Biography
I try to live my professional life under the following principle: "The law, for all its failings, has a noble goal – to make the little bit of life that people can actually control more just. We can’t end disease or natural disasters, but we can devise rules for our dealings with one another that fairly weigh the rights and needs of everyone, and which, therefore, reflect our best vision of ourselves." I am a native of Colorado. After attending Colorado State University, I attended law school at the University of Kansas. After graduating I worked with at civil litigation defense firm in Kansas City until I was appointed as Deputy General Counsel of the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority. After that appointment ended, I knew it was time to move back to Colorado and in 2005 I realized my life-long dream of moving to Steamboat Springs.
