Lisa Marie Powers

I hired Ms Powers in July, 2009 to help me apply for Medicaid financial assistance for my ailing, elderly parent. On our first meeting I requested that she contact my parent’s financial planner whom agreed, at no charge, to provide her with any information in any format she would need. After several ...requests, instead of contacting this person, Lisa started a process which included numerous hours invested by us both. After 5 intense weeks, she then had her paralegal spend one day over 7 hours (and an extra $1200 charge) going through my parent’s financial pages tediously by hand. With this info she then announced that she could now NOT apply for Medicaid. This could have been determined after that first meeting if she made the requested contact. Lisa then charged me for 5 weeks of services. After recent review by her peers (lawyers) which I initiated, I was informed that since I hired Ms. Powers and a service was provided, I should pay her fees. I trusted this lawyer and resent paying for services of no substance or never needed.
