Leslie Vega

Leslie Vega was born and raised in Miami, Florida to Cuban parents. She attended high school and college in Miami. She first attended the University of Miami and then transferred to Carlos Albizu University to focus on psychology and psychotherapy. She graduated in 2016 magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in Psychology and a minor is Forensic psychology. After college, she decided that Law School was her true calling and enrolled full time at St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated in 2019. During law school, Leslie was selected to represent her class as a student Governor for The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division.

She spent all three years representing her class and her school as a governor with the Florida Bar. Also during Law School, Leslie was accepted to become part of St. Thomas Law School Trial Team, a nationally ranked mock trial competition team. During her time with the team, she competed three times and made it as a semi-finalist on two competitions. Her time on the trial team really helped develop her litigation skills, confidence, and court room awareness.

She was also able to gain valuable experience and knowledge as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Peter Lopez in Miami- Dade. Leslie was also part of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review at St. Thomas, where she wrote an article on women’s rights and sexual harassment. Additionally, she was a member of the Cuban American Student Bar Association.

After law school, Leslie is now a coach to the St. Thomas Law School Trial team, where she coaches and trains students to compete in mock trial competitions. She currently lives in Miami and enjoys spending her spare time with family and her dog.
