N/AOUTCOME: Case Dismissed
J.F. was involved in an “on again - off again” relationship with a woman. They had a child together. During one of their separations, they agreed to meet and try and work things out. The girlfriend sta ... rted drinking an excessive amount and became convinced that J.F. was involved with another woman. The girlfriend started becoming physical and J.F. attempted to leave. The girlfriend tried to keep him there. J.F. was finally able to get into his vehicle and leave, but the girlfriend followed him, on foot, out onto the street and blocked the path of his vehicle. At this point, while holding onto the vehicle, she entered it and refused to get out. As J.F. turned around his vehicle to take her back to her house, she jumped out of the vehicle. Another vehicle happened to be driving by and saw the girlfriend falling out of the moving vehicle. The passerby stopped and asked if she needed help and called the police. J.F. was arrested for Domestic A&B with Dangerous Weapon (accused of throwing his girlfriend out of the vehicle). At preliminary hearing, and after I had previously interviewed the girlfriend, the case was dismissed when she recanted the entire story and admitted that she had been drinking heavily and had jumped out of the vehicle on her own volition.
