Kurt Frederic Vote

Mr. Vote has litigated more than a dozen court and jury trials in state and federal court to verdict, has been lead counsel in numerous mediation and arbitration proceedings, and has successfully argued before the Kern and Fresno Superior Court Appellate Panels as well as the Fifth District Court of Appeal.

Mr. Vote is McCormick Barstow’s primary attorney responsible for the firm’s Construction law practice. His civil engineering degree, which included advanced courses in structural mechanics; concrete, steel, wood, and transportation design; and computer science, has made him well-suited to represent clients with a wide range of construction dispute and construction defect concerns. He regularly participates in mediations, arbitrations and trials of construction claims. Mr. Vote also represents general contractors and specialty trade subcontractors in administrative proceedings before the California Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors’ State License Board.

In addition to his practice involving construction law, Mr. Vote is routinely involved with non-construction cases which deal with agricultural law, breach of contract, commercial debt collection, corporate and partnership disputes, intellectual property, plant growth regulators, real property, and trade secrets.

Mr. Vote is the Chairperson of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. In this capacity, he oversees the operation of that practice group, including recruiting, marketing, and litigation support for the group’s attorneys, paralegals, and numerous support staff.

Mr. Vote is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, all California State Courts, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.
