Mr Speir is a very knowledgeable lawyer but seems to have some kind of anxiety problem. His paperwork for court is written exceptionally well but that work is done when he is on his own and he can review it. But in the courtroom it is a different story he is very disorganized and forgetful also he le...aves for a break just before you go into court. I think he has some kind of addiction problem that he think helps his anxiety problem. It doesn't it makes his mind unclear. My divorce & child custody case was a disaster. He seems like a person with a good heart. I paid him very little money because he got me nothing. I couldn't pay him but he never harassed me for payment. He always showed up and was very nice.

I retained Mr Speir to represent me in my divorce case. I found Mr Speir to be a very amicable fellow but very disorganized. We got together on several occasions to discuss my case strategy and I provided several pieces of evidence which Mr Speir kept in his possession. When it came time to appear... in court, Mr Speir would either not show, or would come to court completely unprepared. By unprepared I mean he would have completely forgotten everything we discussed regarding the case, he would have none of the evidence provided to him for admission to the court (in fact, he claimed to have misplaced everything I gave him) and/or would not have the required paperwork completed resulting in additional appearances. After a couple years of litigation, my ex wife and I finally came to a written agreement (which I signed and was told by Mr Speir that she had signed) and Mr Speir congratulated me and wished me a wonderful life. However, I failed to make sure that Mr Speir followed through and actually filed the agreement. This was my mistake. Since then my ex wife has started the fight all over again because I cashed out my retirement (the only thing I got from the divorce) to pay bills. Since I didn't have a copy of the signed agreement (which was never filed) I lost the subsequent case and it has cost me thousands. I noticed that this site also claims that Mr Speir has had no actions taken against him. This is inaccurate. Mr Speir is currently ineligible to practice law and has served time in jail (and house arrest/probation) for his crimes. A simple check on the CA Bar Assoc website will confirm this fact.
