Sounds highly unusual, that's the reason, but yes a Judge can change his mind if new evidence comes to light.

Maybe. Make an appointment with an employment lawyer to be sure, bring any termination documents that state why you were fired.

Reinstatement is definitely a possibility. Just show your attorney all the documentation, verifying the emergency family issue etc.
