I was very excited to practice law and help other people. Initially, I thought I desired to work in federal government and worked in law school toward that outcome. I accepted the offer at Lewis and Roca LLP based on several recommendations and turned down an offer that would have put me in Washington, D.C. but without family and friends. I had worked for America West Airlines for over nineteen years and had numerous ties to Phoenix, Arizona. In retrospect, I wish I would have gone to D.C. to work. I have always excelled in my studies, graduating Valedictorian from Peoria High School.
I worked at Lewis and Roca LLP until 2009 when I was laid off due to the economic recession. I then returned to school earning an LL.M. in tax from the University of Washington School of Law. I also passed the California Bar Exam in summer of 2012.
Thereafter I moved back to Phoenix with the intent to practice there. Unfortunately, I reunited with a former boyfriend who went on to file a complaint against me with the State Bar of Arizona. He did so eight days after I broke up with him. He used the State Bar as if it we were in couples counseling. His intent was to disbar me. He used to stalk me before I knew who he was. The State Bar of Arizona investigated the allegations, which included false statements by bar complainant and emails by me. The State Bar concluded that I had not acted professionally in my personal life. The emails were sent by me to two different women that bar complainant was involved with. I wrote them not as a lawyer but as his girlfriend. One women was his online/phone sex chat partner and the other a woman he socialized with nightly. The State Bar concluded I was using my status as a lawyer to intimidate the women into leaving bar complainant alone. That was far from the truth. Nor was I abusive. The State Bar also chastized me for emailing his mother saying the email was unwanted. I had emailed once before to tell her Wells Fargo was letting bar complainant access her safe deposit box and interlineate her will. She removed him as executor. That email was not problematic.
I felt the State Bar had gone far afield from the practice of law to be chiding me about personal emails I sent out and furthering bar complainant's vendetta against me for breaking up with him. The State Bar also overlooked the history of domestic abuse that bar complainant had against me, including police reports. For that reason, when the six month suspension was over, I declined to reapply to the State Bar of Arizona.
I've tried to be a straight arrow and have always been that way. I took responsibility for the DUI, which is now over ten years ago. Unfortunately, bar complainant's juvenile complaints for things he could not control during the relationship turned into a fiasco, none of it relevant to the practice of law. Bar complainant later emailed me to say it was "payback" and that "my law license was dead in the water before I had even started". I never understood his vendetta or why. Subsequently a man has "lampooned" me (his words) who was not at the hearing and has factual inaccuracies throughout his lampoon. He has lampooned hundreds of lawyers and judges like me by trolling the court records in every state. He also did not know bar complainant was my own former boyfriend of eight days past and does not make that clear In his lampoon.
This guy runs a one man operation defaming and libeling lawyers and judges who have been have been chastised by their particular State Bars. I like what Mr. Rocchio eloquently says about it all.

“Washington State Bar followed suit because it had to, without any independent finding of wrongful conduct. I did not seek reinstatement to Arizona and therefore Washington because of the invasion into my personal life, which I thought was unfair and beyond the scope of the State Bar of Arizona's purview.”

“Bar complainant was landlord and boyfriend, never a client. Filed two seemingly drunken e-mails in middle of night complaining about me. Bar complainant’s allegations were personal, false or involved our private life. None of it involved the practice of law. The State Bar ignored the history of domestic violence bar complainant had thereby condoning his actions. The State Bar basically decided I had acted unprofessionally in my private life with bar complainant and suspended me six months.”
