The above HOA sued my husband & I over alleged late HOA fees, late fees & other charges which was disputed by us as this whole thing started over a plumbers fee, which I paid the plumber directly & the HOA started applying my monthly payment towards HOA fees towards that plumbing bill; which we dispu...ted vehemently with no end in sight. Some checks were returned & some payments were cashed months later while they held on to the payments so that the late fees would increase & incur monthly. We were at our wits end until I appeared in courts and the judge referred me to HERA. I was very lucky to have met with Joe Jaramillo, who went above & beyond researching laws and helping me out to defend myself in courts. I managed to settle out of court, and with Mr. Jaramillo's guidance managed to settle at a comfortable fee which we were able to afford.
