Jonathan Bain Womack

Jon Womack represents domestic and foreign insurers and underwriting syndicates in complex insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Southeast. His diverse practice encompasses the defense of insurers in first and third-party coverage disputes in a number of fields including, energy, marine, construction, commercial auto and garage, aviation, and residential and commercial property. He has represented insurers in class actions and mass tort cases and has broad experience involving claims arising out of historical environmental pollution and catastrophes. Though his practice is primarily devoted to litigation, Mr. Womack frequently advises insurers regarding appropriate coverage positions and claim responses. 

Mr. Womack has assisted insurers in resolving coverage questions pertaining to federal environmental statutes and regulations their state counterparts. He has also defended insurers in bad faith actions in several states. His experience in the energy and marine sectors has assisted insurers facing claims arising out of variety of petroleum and gas releases, produced water discharges and other incidents. Mr. Womack often works with adjusters and expert engineers in preparing liability and coverage defenses. He also has broad experience in complex procedural matters, consolidated and multi-district litigation, declaratory judgment actions and novel coverage questions. 

Mr. Womack also serves as pro bono and court appointed counsel for indigent clients in criminal and civil litigation matters.
