John Howard Graves

Our business was being sued for the remainder of a commercial property lease and John worked diligently to win or case for us. His communication with us to keep us informed of where things were, and where they were headed were a huge help in relieving stress along the way. He kept things simple an...d easy to follow, but made us feel important as we went thru each step of the process. We were extremely nervous about how things were going, how much we might have to pay out, how long it would take for answers, etc. John was calm and didn't seem too worried, and extremely confident. When we first met John he seemed almost kocky, but determined and very business like. We quickly learned that these 3 things are his greatest strength. His extreme confidence and determination can be intimidating to the other and refused to back down and continued to fight for us. We were being sued for $36k, which was quite intimidating, but from the moment we met he made us feel like we had already won. Our case took 6 months and in that 6 months, John never doubted we would win. John Graves was correct. The day of court, the other side decided not to show and gave up. We were shocked, not John. He said "Take the day off and go have some lunch". With that we had won. That was 2010 and since then we have used John a couple times. He has represented or son in a custody case and myself with a divorce and custody case. There isn't another attorney that we would trust to make things happen for us and he is highly recommended.

John helped me and my family with a difficult lawsuit involving the construction of our home. I recommend John for any legal issue. He is very knowledgeable and clearly explains issues. We used John Graves for what can only be described as a hell-on-earth arbitration and pre-arbitration bankruptcy. To clarify, we had spent every penny to our name in a legal battle against an industry monolith, using who we thought were the region's best lawyers. Turns out, the best was right in our ...figurative "backyard" the whole time. Despite having, comparatively, very little time to prepare, he outperformed the monolith's TEAM of lawyers. Had I not been so angry about being in a fraudulently brought arbitration, I would have actually been embarrassed FOR them. Mr. Graves' knowledge of the law, incredible understanding of proceedings, maneuverability while liaising with opposing counsel, and his downright tenacious loyalty to us as his clients, makes me wish he had been our attorney from the onset. Had that been the case, we might not have had to use him for bankruptcy, at which he is equally astute. I could go on and on, but all I really need to say is this- we will never contact another attorney for ANYTHING without first calling Mr. Graves.
