This lawyer spoke to me by phone, thanked me for choosing him, told me he would review some court paperwork for me and make a couple of calls. He quoted me a fee and said his paralegal would send me an agreement. I spent several days going back and forth with his paralegal, only to find out ONE DAY ...before the court deadline that he had not in fact done any of the work he said he would do. He left me stranded, and I do not consider him trustworthy.

Compassionate but Fair

I am the "single" mother of two special needs children, both with anxiety disorders, one with autism. After poor representation out of state, three years of a custody/visitation battle at the expense of my children's health and wellbeing (hospitalizations at Ridgeview), John offered to research my op...tions for changing jurisdiction to Georgia, free of charge. I spoke with him in his office for a free consultation, at which time he informed me of the measures that needed to be addressed by my current attorney in the other state. He offered to work hourly with no retainer fee to help my current attorney file the appropriate action to have the case moved to my children's home state to cut down on the stress for my special needs household. He was compassionate, factual, and fair. He did not try to promise me the moon, but told me what I could expect...the good and the bad. If you want someone that has knowledge, backbone, and devotion to the best interest of his clients choose John Edwards.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
