An H-1B is not a work permit. It does not allow you to work for any business you like. The H-1B is specific to the employer which applied for it....

It does not matter if the business is physical or virtual. You may not start a business and work.

My friend, by US law, you are not supposed to pay one cent for that H-1B. What the employer had you do was illegal.
