My work injury(ies) was a very unpleasant experience. I had gone to a hospital thinking I needed stronger pain rmedication (pills or creams) than what I was getting over-the-counter at drug stores. Instead the ER doctor put splints on both my arms and gave me a doctor’s note to give to my employer to... be off work for 3 days. It would have been longer except he said he is not a specialist. When I gave the doctor’s note at my employer’s Human Resources Department, the nightmare began. I was told to go into the conference room, my supervisor was called in, the HR representative demanded if the doctor said I had “carpal tunnel syndrome.” I told the HR rep that the doctor said he was not a specialist and could not tell me my condition. Immediately, pictures were taken of me, I was made to sign Workers Compensation papers in front of my supervisor, then I was told that a van will take me to their own doctor at a clinic and will return me back to the employer afterward. I was seen by both a medical doctor and an orthopedic surgeon, who both played with my arms, wrist, and hands saying I only had tendonitis and recommended I go to physical therapy. Toward the end of my physical therapy, I was still in pain. I felt I was not getting anywhere with these doctors or the physical therapist. I thought maybe I need to get myself an attorney. I found Dr. Peter M. Schaeffer on the internet and wondered if he would be interested in taking my case. Thankfully, he did. Going through Dr. Peter M. Schaeffer’s office was the best decision I made. Immediately, his staff found me a Workers Compensation doctor. When I met my orthopedic doctor, he immediately requested the insurance approve me to have an EMG and MRIs done on my injuries. My company’s doctors never did have any medical equipment testing on me to come to their diagnosis of tendonitis. I learned I had carpal tunnel syndrome on both my wrists and would require surgeries. Eventually, the very lovely Jennifer J. Bentley handled my case. Dr. Peter M. Schaeffer and the rest of his staff were very superb. They were very patient with me, as I had never used an attorney before and had very little understanding of the terminologies and procedures regarding legal matters. They were there for me when I felt the chips were down. Of course, when employees have to get their own Workers Compensation attorney, the employer is not very kindly to you and are not looking out for your best interest. Dr. Peter M. Schaeffer, Jennifer J. Bentley, and their staff deal with so many people and are very patient amid their work load. They truly do fight for you. I had been going through this legal case for over two years. I had surgeries to both my wrists. My doctor has diagnosed me as permanent and stationery. The insurance company was offering Jennifer J. Bentley a settlement of my case. Jennifer J. Bentley explained the process of the settlement to me via e-mail. I came to her office to sign the settlement papers, but I did not understand Compromise and Release (C and R). I later had to return as she had to draw up different papers. I came back to her office the following week. While we were going through the papers, I was surprised when the final settlement amount appeared. The settlement amount had gone up and far more than I had even expected! The whole process after signing these settlement papers, getting the court judge signature, and receiving my final Workers Compensation check took over a week! I was surprised at the speed! Jennifer J. Bentley works FAST! The nightmare is over! I am extremely grateful and so very proud of the accomplishments of Dr. Peter M. Schaeffer, Jennifer J. Bentley, and their incredible staff for working so patiently and so diligently on my behalf. There are no words to fully express my gratitude to them. Thanks a million!

Jennifer pretty much took the lead for her firm in the handling of my workers comp case, and she is the one who appeared on my behalf at the hearing. She was very professional and went out of her way to caution me that there were no guarantees, and to set realistic expectations for my settlement. T...hat said, I ended up getting a settlement several times larger than I expected (or I think than even SHE expected!). All in all, very pleasant and professional. Would recommend her in a heartbeat.

I want to start out by thanking Jennifer Bentley AKA JJ is a very hard-working woman who will do just about anything that she can do to make her clients happy. She takes good care of her clients. She will not back down from the defense attorneys for the insurance companies. I told JJ at one point to... just settle my case so I gave her a money figure that I wanted and she told me that she can get me more so I waited. She called me yesterday to come in to sign the compromise and release forms so I went to her office she showed me how much I was getting. I said wow I cannot believe it! I'm so glad I waited an extra three months because she got me Triple of the money figure then what I wanted before. Thank you so much JJ for all your hard work. I definitely 110% would recommend Jennifer Bentley as your workers compensation attorney. Don't wait call Jennifer Bentley before you call anyone else. You will not be disappointed!
