About Jeffrey
Biography
Jeff McCarthy earned a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law. While attending law school, Jeff clerked for the Texas Attorney General’s Office working in the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division and for the Houston non-profit organization Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA).
Prior to law school Jeff Honorably served in the United States Army and the Texas Army National Guard as an Officer in the Cavalry. He had a key leadership role in support of Hurricane Katrina and Rita. Furthermore, he served multiple overseas deployments and earned the Bronze Star for his service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom deploying with the 82nd Airborne Division. Jeff began his legal career as a pre-select candidate with the Harris County District Attorney’s office.
After prosecuting numerous crimes and fighting for the rights of the citizens of Harris County he moved his passion for trial work to the civil courthouse as a Trial Attorney for a Fortune 100 Insurance Carrier. During this time he gained unmatched first and second chair litigation and trial experience defending personal injury, insurance defense, premises liability and general civil litigation matters.
Jeff practices in various areas of civil litigation in both state and federal court, including personal injury, insurance defense and premise liability.
