Very happy with this attorney! Divorce/custody

Mr. Harris was my attorney on a very complicated divorce/custody case. My case was already going on for 5 years before I hired him. I paid him $5,000 retainer in 2017. Mr. Harris did return every single call of mine, and was highly professional in handling my matters. He brought my case to the very s...atisfactory for me results in less than a year. I would highly recommend Jeffrey Harris (hire the one who has office in Maywood). My court btw was in Waukeegan, and I know Mr. Harris also goes to downtown Chicago and other courts. I almost hired a wrong Jeffrey Harris - a mediocre attorney who happens to have same name. The one whose represented me and whose services were outstanding is the one whose office is listed online in Maywood. He is great!

The worst Lawyer iI have come to meet

I hired Mr. Harris in June of 2014 as my divorce attorney, because he came highly recommended. I had a consultation with him which I paid him $750 to get the paperwork started. He stated that the letters would be mailed off to my husband within 30-45 days. I tried reaching out to Mr. Harris numerou...s time between August -Sept 2014 for a followup and I could never get a hold of him. I would leave messages and he never returns my calls. I finally spoke with him again in October 2014, which I asked for a refund because no paperwork was ever sent to my husband. Mr. Harris stated he mailed the papers, and insisted that he didn't want to loose me as a client and that he could email the papers to me and I could personally give my husband the papers myself. I agreed for him to do just that and he did. After giving my husband the divorce papers in October 2014, I once again attempted to reach out to Mr. Harris from November 2014 to January 2015 and the same results, no answer and no call backs. Finally got through to him in February 2015, and he acts like he slightly remembers me and my case. After reminding him who I am, he goes yes your husband turned the papers in back in November 2014 where he wrote on all pages in big letters I do not agree with terms & conditions. I asked what was the next steps and when will I be able to get a court appearance. He stated now he has to redraw up new papers because my husband is contesting the divorce. He stated he was on the other line with a client and he would return my call and pull up my file. I never received that call back. I got in contact with Mr. Harris in April 2015 after the countless no return calls from him. He act so surprise to receive my phone call, maybe because I called from a different number that he didn't recognized. After addressing who I am, he goes so where are we on this case. I stated to Mr. Harris that he couldn't have listen to the very last my voicemail I left because I stated I wanted a refund. Once again he tried talking me out of a refund. I asked him did he have a heavy workload because if so I can seek an attorney else where. Mr. Harris then goes on to say well a refund might be possible but I would have to call you back because I'm on the other line with another client and I do not have your file in front of me. I am beyond frustrated at this point with him and insisted that he give my some answers for all the runarounds he's being giving me. He got very defensive, and stated I want him to do something right then and there when he's already tending to another client on the other line. I have never in my life experienced a lawyer like him before. All I wanted to do was pay him the additional $500 to get a court appearance and I have yet to get that. I have friends who filed for divorce around the same time I did and they are divorced by now. I'm still waiting in limbo on phone calls, better yet my refund.
