Jason D Smith

I practice Health Care Law with a focus on Long Term Care and Seniors Housing (“LTCSH”). I have a unique and lifelong connection with the LTCSH community. My mother was a Director of Nursing in both traditional nursing homes and in a skilled nursing unit at an Eastern Washington hospital, where I spent many hours while growing up. Long Term Care and Seniors Housing has been part of the landscape of my life since as long as I can remember. I bring an understanding and passion to the work I do for providers in this industry.

I graduated with honors from Seattle University School of Law, and remain active and engaged in the practice of health care law. I served as the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Health Law Section and remain active in several professional associations serving various health care provider groups in Washington, Oregon and nationally. I also served as Evergreen Healthcare’s General Counsel for several years, where I oversaw all aspects of the company’s legal matters. I'm skilled at, and enjoy, navigating survey and certification issues and working with providers to develop meaningful plans of correction: those that address immediate issues while establishing goals that support sustainable, coordinated outcomes.
