The first meeting between a lawyer and a man going through divorce will set the tone for the attorney-client relationship. It is at that meeting that Georgia lawyer Jarvis G. Johnson wants to listen to his client’s side of the story and convey a general direction of what the options are.

“I want to understand their goals and explain how we can use the law to find the fairest solutions to difficult domestic situations,” Mr. Johnson said.

Few family law issues are as impactful and personal as child custody, according to Mr. Johnson.

“In custody cases you get to know the individual more in-depth, you get to know their parenting style and the things they do each day to sustain their family. You want to keep that dynamic in place as much as possible,” he said. “So in the end, if all parties feel as though a new chapter is beginning, the chances of sustaining a relationship that nurtures children and future objectives in life is greater.”

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Mr. Johnson practiced law primarily in the area of general civil litigation. He has handled cases ranging from personal injury, family law, landlord tenant, collections, probate, and real estate matters.
