Avoid This "Lawyer"

I hired Jane Robertson to represent me for a divorce. The retainer was $2,500. We only went to court one time, which was the temporary custody hearing for my son, which she showed up 15 minutes late for. My wife and I had already agreed upon literally everything. Actually neither of us even needed an... attorney. Regardless, my wife's attorney drafted the paperwork for us and Jane Robertson did absolutely nothing. She didn't do any of the paperwork involved and there was no argument with the other attorney to make. All she did was sit next to me in a court room briefly, with her supervisor, Attorney Abercrombie, who was also absolutely unnecessary. Despite Jane Robertson's lack of activity in this case, she still somehow consumed my entire retainer, and then insisted that I owed her an additional $800. I told her I no longer needed her services, and she told me she had to file a motion to remove herself from representing me and she could get that done for $500 or less. I told her there's no way I was paying her $500, in addition to the $2,500 she already stole from me, to remove herself from my life, and that a person doesn't get a bonus for being fired. The firm she was with, Cordell Cordell, insisted I pay the additional $800, which I refused, and eventually I had to pay them an additional $400 to finally make them leave me alone and avoid having to hire another "attorney" to suck up more of my money dealing with this predatory law firm and it's employees. Avoid this woman. She's a criminal, and she's not even a good one, and she is most certainly not even close to being a good attorney.

Not for Father's Rights!

My husband hired Jane to get custody of his children. At the initial consultation Jane made it sound like it was possible to get custody. When he went for mediation she was on her phone the entire time not paying attention, did not fight for my husband at all, and also told him to accept whatever the...y were offering him. She lied to us and said we could get his children when she knew it was not possible. We would not recommend this lawyer to ANYONE! There are so many concerns about the situation my husbands children are living in and they just got pushed under the rug. TOTAL WASTE OF 10 GRAND! Plus he had to pay for ex wife's lawyer fees. Definitely not for father's rights!

Don't believe everything you read.

After meeting with Jane and her supervisor to discuss my case. I felt that their firm and Jane would be my best option as they pride themselves on being divorce advocates for fathers. After the initial consultation there was a practice meeting which i had to remind her of. At the meeting she had th...e yellow notebook pad and used it to take notes. And the end of the meeting she insured me that she would have all of it organized by the next day for the temporary orders meeting. In the meeting, as well as the initial consultation, the main point of the divorce was discussed involving substance abuse of my spouse. The next day in the temporary orders hearing, the same yellow notebook was the only thing present, and she spent 30 seconds between each question as she flipped as if she were trying to answer questions from for a test and didn't know the answers. It was embarrasing. She also completely forgot the main point of my complaint (the abuse) and afterwards said "o yeah" when i reminded her about it. It put me in an extremely negative light with the temporary orders and i discontinued my services with this firm after my credit card was completely drained. They offered me roughly a 10% refund which i refused but they credited it back anyway and that was that. I am currently completing a complaint to the state bar association. I have since hired a competant attourney who has brought the entire case to my favor and look forward to it being completed any day now.
