James Michael DaFonte

James DaFonte, a Florida native, was born and raised in Clearwater. James attended Palm Harbor University High School and participated in the school’s IB program. During high school, he lettered in football, volunteered with Hospice, and earned his Eagle Scout Award. James attended the University of Florida for undergraduate school and received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Marketing. While at UF, James was Vice President and Treasurer of Phi Gamma Delta and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. James’s experience with Phi Alpha Delta combined with his interest in law-focused business courses motivated him to become an attorney.

James went on to law school at the University of Miami, where he became the Secretary of the Business and Corporate Law Society and volunteered with Books and Buddies. James also participated in numerous valuable internships with the City of Miami City Attorney’s Office and the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust.

James brings a wide range of legal experience to the firm, having previously practiced in the areas of insurance defense, premises  liability, construction defect litigation, workers’ compensation, real estate, business formation, corporate governance, probate, tax, and trusts and estates.

James enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, weightlifting, and cheering on the Florida Gators.
