You need to hire an attorney who can contact them and make a good-faith attempt to settle this debt. I would also suggest that you use a bankruptcy...
Can I pay a judgement to the court directly? What documents would I need to file? The collection agency is very difficult.

No it does not restart the clock. The law would be 6 years from the date that you incurred the debt or the last payment that you made on the debt.
