Stole money I paid for my divorce
Hired Shaw to handle my divorce. Paid in full and I'm still not divorced. Won't return phone calls or respond to my problem.
I have been out of private practice for quite some time. I have kept my email and phone number active so that I can refer former clients to other attorneys when they have questions or concerns. I have received absolutely no phone calls that have gone unanswered. This review has been left anonymously so I believe it to be fraudulent.

Terrible, not reliable, and very unprofessional, deserves 0 stars
Do not hire Doug Shaw, he told me that my case had expired, and that I had to pay again, (why wouldn't you tell me before), so I paid again, n still got the runaround. Also Doug jumped from office to office w/o contacting me, like he was trying to avoid me, till this day, never got my issue resolved,...

Guardianship Case
At first Doug was hired by my mother and sister to establish temporary guardianship of my daughter. Despite the fact that Doug doesn't take the time to listen to all aspects of your situation, everything seemed to be going great until the second hearing. He was supposed to have subpoenaed several c...

Be aware!
I hired Shaw to help me finalize my divorce. He agreed and actually got a final hearing date set for me! I had high hopes for him in the beginning until a few days before the final he asks he come in. He explains to me how my financial situation will be if I win and if I lose and then has me sign a p...
I understand your frustration with your divorce. When a divorce has been pending for two years a person can become upset with the process. Obviously, your divorce has been emotionally trying for you as you have posted similar reviews for your two prior attorneys. I would like to address a few of your statements. Your final hearing was not moved because of a case deemed to be "more important." Your case was moved due to a felony jury trial scheduled for the same morning which took priority based on court priority. Your final hearing was rescheduled to the earliest date available on the court's calendar not the attorney's calendar. You were not given 60 days to save for a place to live. You were awarded 23 months to remain in your residence without cost so you actually had 23 months to save. My email has a disclosure clause at the end as it is required by law. My email policy is to respond to emails within 24 hours. There are times when 4:30AM is when I have availability to respond to emails. Furthermore, I do not forbid clients from emailing me. I will ask clients to consolidate their questions and/or thoughts into one email when I have received more than 5 or 6 within 30 minutes. I hope this clarifies any concerns.

Very pleased!
Mr. Shaw made an awful circumstance bearable! Anyone going through a divorce knows how difficult it can be. He made it simple and I felt like he really cared about what was in my best interest. Great ongoing communication as well, which I understand is rare with many attorneys these days!
"I endorse this lawyer. I worked with him on a divorce case in 2016. Attorney Shaw is very effective, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We were able to resolve the case quickly and both the husband and wife were happy with the end result. He is an excellent family law attorney!"

“This 30 day suspension was the result of a self-reported conflict. While no suspension is ever a positive in anyone's career this matter was voluntary and reinstatement was automatic.”
