OUTCOME: DUI Homicide reduced to a misdemeanor DUI by order of the appellate court.
I was solo counsel in this case where my client was charged with DUI Homicide and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was convicted at trial of both counts but the DUI Homicide was reversed on appeal ... and reduced to a misdemeanor DUI which is what I argued at trial. The court then imposed an illegal sentence upon remand from the appellate court and was reversed a second time within the year. Client is now on probation.
