Completely horrible

Her inexperience showed a lot. She wanted me to plead guilty from the gate. She wrote a report for the district attorney some type package for me to spend no jail time in a plead bargain, but i told her I don't think that would work, because she was real adamant about giving me the max. Diane said..., " no don't worry I know what I am doing." She came back to me and said the district attorney did not even look at the package. I thought that would be obvious. Diane also did not subpoena any video after I told her where there would be video recordings of parts of the incident. She also did not question the complaining witness to describe the actual event. Her excuse was that she did not want the complaining witness to cry on the stand. I wanted her to ask to put emphasis on what the complaining witness lied about on the stand, but she refused. When the complaining witness left the stand she said she can point out all the contradictions during the closing statements which did not make sense, because it is necessary for the complaining witness to contradict themselves on the stand. In my situation I was attacked and used self defense. She showed me a case which she thought was similar. Diane was telling why what I did was self defense by showing me the case. In the case 4 young men surrounded him and he thought he was going to be attacked and he killed the 4 kids. I said to Diane if that is the case then I should be presumed innocent. She started to rethink and did not use that case as an example. "Let me look at this again" she said.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
