Not Trustworthy

I hired David Taylor in 2017. Mr. Taylor is a man of "half truths." He only told the part of the truth that benefitted his name or his firm. 1. Initially, I wanted to hire him directly. He convinced me to hire his underling and gave me good reasons to do so. So I did. He conveniently left out that... she was pregnant and her due date was just weeks before the court date. 2. He told me the psychoevaluation which would be necesssry was cost free. When it came time for the psychoevaluation his underling told me it w as $4000. It was not free for people that were paying for a lawyer. The underling, who was excellent, trustworthy, and very professional, made a special request to the judge on my behalf to request exemption from this additional expense. 3. The underling worked diligently to have one of the charges dropped from my son's record. The charges were identical and doubled his possible time from 15 to 30 years. She was successful in dropping one of those charges! BUT, Mr. Taylor took the case once she had her baby and this is where things unraveled. 4. (This is what I believe, since he had only divulged half truths to me in order to get my business) Mr. Taylor, in order to get my son 1 year less time, and to make his own name look better, had the second charge put back on his record! If my son violates probation once he is free, he will have to serve the remainder of a 30 year term rather than 15 years. I don't see alot of benefit in that. 5. Mr. Taylor also had the case pushed back a week to "fit his schedule." Even then, he did not show up for court. He sent someone in his stead, and it wasn't until my son heard it from the judges lips...."2 counts of....." that we realized what Mr. Taylor had done...he had put the second count back on in order to make things look better on paper. Once again, Mr. Taylor had not divulged the whole truth to me. My realization of these half truths were always in hindsight, one at a time. He lacks character and integrity in truthfulness. I regret having hired him as defense attorey for my son. I'm in Va and he practices in Fl, so all contact took place over the phone. I felt bad that I had lacked proper discernment when I hired this man. I should have done more on line research before making a decision.
