David Michael Ondrey

David, a Chardon resident, joined the firm as an associate in 1980 and became a partner in 1986.  He has significant experience in labor relations matters including collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and NLRB matters. He counsels clients on a variety of employment issues including trade secrets, covenants not to compete, overtime/wage and hour law, and employment discrimination law. He has experience litigating employment related issues in the state courts, federal courts, and before administrative agencies including the NLRB, EEOC and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.  David also has considerable experience in zoning, land use planning and municipal law issues, as the current Solicitor (Law Director) for the Village of South Russell and previously for Middlefield and Burton Villages.  He has tried bench and jury trials in seven different counties and appeared before numerous appellate courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court. His clients include other governmental agencies such as the Geauga Park District, as well as small businesses, builders, and real estate developers. He also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in automotive related personal injury matters.  In his spare time, he enjoys downhill skiing, sailing and his lakeside cottage in Ashtabula County.  He has served as chair for the Boards for UH Geauga Hospital, Geauga United Way, and for the Lake Cardinal Estates, Inc.
