It sounds like you may have a valid complaint, but 11 years later is probably too late to sue. See a civil plaintiffs attorney right away.

I agree with the lawyer you cited. Once designated a misdemeanor, you are not a convicted felon.

Generally, the case is set for a pretrial conference before being set for trial. Your situation would depend on what was said at your arraignment....

Yes. You were charged with violating probation but apparently your probation has not been revoked as the charge is still pending.
