Hired for my fiancé, a few years ago. If I knew you could review lawyers then I would’ve. She was not on time for court ever, she would have other show up for her with no communication, she got my fiancés case mixed up with someone else’s during court, she was all over the place, unprofessional and d...idn’t care about her clients well being. She was seen laughing with the prosecutors and speaking poorly about clients with them right after sentencing my fiancé. She took a plea deal for him but didn’t tell him he’d be left with 100,000 in restitution for taking said plea deal. We all (him, me and the family) tried reaching out to her in order to figure out 1 why restitution was so high but also why the state is taking restitution out now instead of the agreed upon after he is released. No contact back from her at all. At one point last year we just couldn’t find her in the law office at all. Her phone went straight to voicemail for me until I stopped trying mid last year when I couldn’t find her anymore and gave up. We spent a lot of money obtaining her for the case, I wish we would’ve done more research and found someone better.

I hired her to handle my son's case. She plead it out only to find out my son would be left paying 3k in fees he was never made aware and when he and I both email her to get clarification, no answer. Took our money and left my son high and dry to find another attorney. Incompetent best word I can use... at this point.

Courtney Petersen is a fantastic trial lawyer. I was facing several serious misdemeanor charges and one felony charge. Courtney was able to get the felony case dismissed by cross examining the states witness and proving the states evidence did not meet the legal requirements for the charges. Durin...g the trail for the misdemeanors, Courtney expertly cross examined the States witnesses, including several police officers and alleged victims. She was able to show inconsistency in the witness and victim accounts and procedural missteps of the police. She expertly questioned me on the stand and helped me to tell my version of the events. She was amazing to watch. At the end of the trial the Judge commended both attorneys on the professionalism and the knowledge of law, including the ability to reach reasoned decisions and express them with clarity. Courtney was able to secure a verdict of not guilty on 4 out 5 of the states charges. Courtney was always responsive to my attempts to contact her. I always felt like Courtney listened to me. I always felt like Courtney believed me and in my case. I would not hesitate to hire Courtney to represent me and wholeheartedly recommend her as a defense attorney.

Waste of money! Had 4 personal emergencies within one case! Have seen public defenders do better jobs! Speaks over you and gets defensive when you are seeking simple responses. Asked for flat fee and described with that was not done and had a million excuses as to why. I would not recommend her as th...ere are other attorneys who are more professional and similar in cost! If you care for your loved one, make sure they are in the right hands, and her hands are not the right ones!

You never want to be in the position to need an attorney, we were though. It was for our daughter and it was for drugs. Very scary situation. Ms. Peterson was recommended to us by a friend. We met with Ms. Peterson, she listened, allowed us to be emotional, comforted us and then got down to busine...ss. We talked about the details of the case, she asked a lot of questions, took notes and then stated how she thought we should proceed. Ms. Peterson stated she needed to look into the facts and get with the police to look at their evidence. She quoted us a fair price and told us, if hired, she would do her very best for our daughter, we hired her. Through the case, we had many phone calls, meetings and emails. Our calls and emails were returned promptly. She kept the correspondences on message, as to not overcharge, since it's an hourly business. We greatly appreciated that! Once Ms. Peterson got all the information she needed from us, the police, her investigator and the Prosecuting attorney she called us in for a meeting. She laid out all our options, told us what we could fight for, what we needed to concede and what realistically to expect. She gave us hope but NOT false expectations. When we went to court, Ms Peterson seemed to be on very good terms with the Prosecutor and the Judge. They both greeted her personally and seemed willing to listen to her arguments and accepted the deal she offered. At the end, our daughter got a much better outcome than we ever expected. We are very grateful for Ms. Peterson's legal representation.
