Corey William Guilmette

Corey Guilmette is a Staff Attorney and leads efforts to reform King County's inquest process, which provides a public review of any death involving law enforcement. Corey has represented several families in inquest hearings and led advocacy efforts to improve the inquest process. These efforts culminated in significant improvements to inquest hearings. Key reforms included a guarantee of publicly-funded attorneys to represent families of the deceased in inquest hearings and an expansion of inquest hearing scope to allow jurors to determine whether law enforcement complied with policy and training. Corey also represents clients in the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program. Corey's representation of LEAD clients includes: eviction defense, immigration advocacy, criminal defense, driver re-licensing, and employment advocacy, among other areas.

Corey is a graduate from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Government and a B.A. in Psychology. He went on to receive his J.D. from Yale Law School.
