Did NOT Advocate for me!

From the moment I hired Britt, I felt I was always trying to defend myself. He seemed to spend all his time talking to the opposing parties lawyer. He refused to allow me to submit therapy letters, etc… I was paying a premium price for his services, however, he had me working mainly with another woma...n in the office; telling me “she needed the experience”. I was being charged for her time, as well as, his time consulting with her. Essentially, I felt I was being pushed off to someone else and paying twice the fees. I felt the woman he put in his place was unprepared and didn’t have all the information to properly represent me during the hearings. Furthermore, Britt kept pushing back the hearings. I felt alone and ultimately decided, I needed to represent myself, Britt was not only refusing to advocate for me but putting me in a position I felt I needed to defend myself as a mother. I feel he is very pro father. And did more damage than helped. I trusted him to help me and my daughter. However, I felt he just took my money (as a single mom).

Divorce

I hired Britt for my divorce. He had a meeting in his office with my ex-husband and his attorney without me. I specifically told Britt that I did not want that to happen unless I was going to be present. It happened anyway without me. After there meeting everything changed on how I was treated. ...I had two leeds on checks that would have led to my Ex's hidden accounts. Britt told me we were not going to pursue any of it. Worst experience ever with this attorney. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
