Great Attorney

I was very pleased with Attorney Meyer and how he handled my divorce. My ex-husband works out of town mostly and didn't want the divorce to begin with. he and his attorney stalled every chance they got, which ended up costing me a lot more in legal fees. Ben filed petitions to keep them on course ...and discovered a bank account my ex was hiding from me for years. The end result of the divorce was I got 60% of our accounts and maintenance. It was worth it. No husband and very happy!

Run!

If you want an attorney who will fight for you and be aggressive please do not hire Ben. We hired him for something that should have been very simple but he kept wanting to settle with the other party even though we knew the other party was not reasonable. Court date after court date, status after st...atus he blew through the retainer plus way more than that and never fought for us. When he saw we were dry, instead of working with us he withdrew after no progress was made and is now filing suit after there was absolutely nothing done in our case. He is not a responsive attorney; our calls and emails were never returned just forwarded emails from other counsel. He filed the initial petition and completely let the other attorney walk in and take over. He told us he wanted to avoid trial at all cost and in the end we were the ones hurt. Now looking for another attorney and even they don't understand why an adjustment has taken over 6 months to work out.

Confident and Capable Representation

I realize my case was very small compared to some of the clients and cases handled by Attorney Meyer, however, I was never treated or made to feel other than a valued client. I always appreciated that when I left a message with questions, I always received a prompt response with answers to my inquir...ies. Mid-case, Attorney Meyer had to deal with the hurdle of the Dead Man's Act, and I was very impressed and pleased with the strong confidence with which he addressed this issue and was able to change course to accommodate this new twist for our case. Being on the stand during the trial, I want you to know, I never felt anything but strong confidence in Attorney Meyer, who guided me through the entire process. I feel confident and secure that I received the best defense possible in my case. Attorney Meyer was detailed in his presentation and I felt honored to be represented by him and his firm.

$17,000.00 with ZERO RESULTS

We have been in the Illinois Family Court System for a total of 10 years. We have hired a total of 6 different lawyers (Lake, Will, and Cook County) to support our family. We initially hired Mr. Meyer based off his military experience, and his ability communicate orally that he understood the dynamic...s of military related custody situations and employment of overseas contractors. It was to our GREAT dismay that we spent over $17,000.00 in less than 7 months to accomplish nothing at all. A total of less than 5 court appearances, 1 in office consultation (initial), various email traffic with a lot of lip service, phone calls that were not beneficial to accomplishing anything but making excuses. Not a single order was entered, and in order for our file to even be transferred to another attorney... we had to pay a significant amount of money that Mr. Meyer claimed we owed him. After hiring a new attorney, in less than 6 months we gained a Sole Custody, a Warrant for Back Child Support, Revoked Visitation, for less than $10,000.00. Maybe with a little more time under his belt, a stronger sense of moral compass; Mr. Meyer would succeed. It is a shame that his years in the military didn't invoke those qualities in his law practice.

Divorce settlement

I made a smart move by hiring Ben to represent me in my divorce case. Ben was well prepared in court and understood divorce law in Illinois. I was grateful he was able to negotiate shared custody and help me obtain a higher portion of the martial funds due to my circumstances. I would suggest any fat...her who needs help with divorce or custody to sit down with Ben and learn your rights. Ben pushed hard for me and achieved excellent results in a short period of time.
