• Handling application for writs of habeas corpus under articles 11.07, 11.072, and 11.09, including evidentiary hearings;
• Preparing briefs and oral arguments to the Court of Criminal Appeals;
• Preparing briefs and oral arguments to the intermediate courts of appeals;
• Handling chapter 64 post-conviction DNA requests, including trial court hearings and appeals;
• Preparing and defending writs of mandamus and motions for nunc pro tunc;
• Handling motions for new trial and motions to withdraw guilty pleas;
• Assisting fellow prosecutors within the county with the investigation and preparation of responses to applications for writs of habeas corpus; and
• Assisting fellow prosecutors outside the county with the investigation and preparation of responses to applications for writs of habeas corpus.
