I attended law school with the intention of using my science and engineering background in my legal work and have been fortunate to enjoy that throughout my legal career so far. I predominentaly practice energy and utilities law and policy but my other specialty areas include environmental/natural resources/land use law, telecommunications, administrative, contracts and, Indian law. I have been the Chair of the Scenarios Work Group at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) in its role under NERC since 2020 and have concurrently represented an interest in a coal mining closure and energy transition process. I was incredibly fortunate to begin my legal career with a three year assignment to facilitate regulatory cooperation along the U.S.-Mexico border. Overarchingly my work has involved governance structure, advising and strategy assignments. Consistent with my background I am an outdoor enthusiast and am in continual awe of the natural world and technology. I am an animal lover and am currently training one dog of 14 I rescued to provide therapy for children suffering from trauma.
