Advocate and founder of the Law Offices of Amelia Porges PLLC, where I advise governments, trade associations, companies and stakeholders on how to make international trade law, trade agreements and investment rules work for them.
Provide and present creative analysis, strategy advice and advocacy on all aspects of trade policy and negotiations, working with a wide range of industries and agricultural groups. Experience in trade law includes guiding U.S. WTO litigation during the WTO's first five years, at the Office of the US Trade Representative; legal advising in the GATT Secretariat during the Uruguay Round negotiations that led to the WTO; and private practice at major international law firms. Extensive experience in WTO litigation, including arguing cases to WTO and GATT panels and the WTO Appellate Body, and drafting dispute settlement submissions.
Known for expertise and understanding of the WTO, the WTO Agreement, dispute settlement, international economic law, and trade in digital content. Also advise and troubleshoot on operational issues in (or with) international or transnational organizations.
