Biography
I have practiced as a civil trial lawyer since 1982. I was a partner at Tharrington Smith and of counsel to Kuniholm Law Firm, representing plaintiffs in cases of sexual abuse, fraud, and complex torts. I now work independently providing consulting and litigation support services to other firms.
I am also an author. My debut novel, Byrd (Dzanc Books, 2014), won the Crook's Corner Book Prize for best debut novel set in the South, among other awards. My short work appears in The Sun, The Believer, The Chicago Tribune Printers Row Journal, Shenandoah, Painted Bride Quarterly, the Norton anthology Flash Fiction Forward, and elsewhere.
