Amanda Simmons Luby

Amanda Simmons Luby enjoys a diverse practice which focuses on helping businesses achieve their organizational goals. She is the founder of the first formally organized and fully resourced Equine Law Group in Florida. In addition, she also practices in general business and construction litigation with an emphasis on dispute resolution. While going to trial may sometimes be necessary, Ms. Simmons Luby appreciates how disruptive litigation can be to her clients.  She has ample experience with commercial liability analysis and handling construction defects claims involving, for example, water intrusion, delays, and products liability (e.g. Chinese Drywall), as well as claims impacting developers and contractors arising from the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act, Florida's lien laws, the Miller Act, and Florida's Condominium Act. Additionally, Ms. Simmons Luby has extensive experience representing clients dealing with various forms of contractual breaches, Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and other torts. With respect to the "equine law" segment of her practice, Ms. Simmons Luby has advised numerous clients in litigation, transactional and regulatory matters, whether they were involved in racing, show jumping, dressage, or other sport. As a Thoroughbred owner and breeder herself and having previously trained in the hunter/jumper and three-day eventing disciplines, Ms. Simmons Luby has first-hand knowledge of various segments of the horse industry and is routinely asked to speak at national seminars on various issues impacting investors in the business.
