Alix Elizabeth Strunk

Alix Strunk is immigration attorney living and practicing in Chicago, Illinois.  She has worked in both private practice and non profits and was named a Rising Star in Immigration by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2014 to 2018. Her practice focuses on removal defense before Chicago Immigration Court and appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals as well as family-based immigration and asylum. Her family-based immigration practice includes applications for permanent residency through adjustment of status and consular processing abroad, hardship waivers, U visas for crime victims and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions, applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and citizenship and naturalization issues. She is fluent in Spanish.

Alix graduated summa cum laude and Order of the Coif from DePaul University College of Law (2011). While in law school, she completed an internship with the Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review in Chicago. Alix was the Acquisitions Editor for DePaul's Journal for Social Justice, president of the Society for Asylum and Immigration Law, and an active member of the Center for Public Interest Law Committee. She received the Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Public Service Award for over 200 hours of pro bono service. Prior to law school, Alix lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for three years.

Alix is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  She has served on several committees for the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association and the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Section Immigration Law Committee.
