Biography
I am a tax attorney who specializes in estate planning, business transactions, tax planning and tax issues before the IRS.
I attended Arizona State University and graduated with a B.S. in Business Finance, Summa Cum Laude.
After working as an executive assistant and a business manager, I went back to school at the University of Denver to obtain my J.D. and my LL.M. in taxation, simultaneously. I was inducted into the Order of Saint Ives for graduating in the upper 10% of my law class, received the Sturm College of Law Scholarship, Schramm Scholarship, Graduate Tax Program Scholarship, and the Colorado Bar Association Section of Taxation Scholarship. My colleagues also voted me the most outstanding Masters Student for obtaining dual degrees while acting as an inspiration to my peer group. Additionally, I participated in the Law Student Tax Challenge and finished second in the Nation.
After graduating, I acted as the Assistant Director of the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic while teaching Research and Writing, Estate and Gift Taxation, and Property Transactions in the Graduate Tax Program.
I taught continuing education seminars for tax attorneys and tax professionals both locally and nationally including classes on Estate and Gift Taxation, Estate Planning, Offers in Compromise, Tax Research, Individual Taxation, Fiduciary Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Partnership Taxation.
My practice focuses on tax controversy; estate, succession, business, and tax planning. Born into a family of small business owners, I enjoy working with individuals and small business owners and businesses. I can offer assistance from start to finish, if necessary, and every step along the way. I may practice before the United States Tax Court.
