Alexander James Coffin

I was connected with attorney Alexander Coffin via Rocket Lawyer. My need was simple administrative action. What I got instead was unsolicited debate and legal strategy. From our first email exchange, I was clear: I needed Mr. Coffin to send a letter on his letterhead to my employer, requesting... preservation of all files related to ongoing legal matters and the release of my complete employee file. I provided a sample letter and understood that he would rewrite it in his own words. He quoted $515 and scheduled a consultation four days later. At the consultation, Mr. Coffin’s first words after hello were that I would be “wasting my money” and he “could not justify the fee.” He insisted my letter was good as written, with nothing he could fix, and I should send it directly. Though I should not have had to delve into legal matters beyond the limited scope of what I was contracting him for, I explained my ongoing federal disputes with my employer, one already settled in my favor, and that an attorney’s letter would carry more weight with a company legally proven to have hostile and flagrantly unlawful conduct. I assured him that I understood the limits of his role and held no expectations beyond the delivery of a certified letter. Mr. Coffin remained rigidly insistent that I not “waste money.” (To be clear, I am a tech worker, and had saved for months of potential unemployment and legal costs.) When I noted that his delay had wasted my time, he became defensive. It is acceptable to decline to perform a service, but not to squander time when the task was clearly defined and you had no intention of completing it. Expecting silent and instant obedience simply because one is a lawyer is arrogance. I was aware of his poor reviews beforehand but assumed there was little risk in hiring him for such a basic administrative task. Unfortunately, even this proved beyond his level of professionalism.

When you believe you have been undersold as a consumer, you seek the representation of an attorney who has expertise in the subject matter. Alex coffin has no capability to be of any service in such manner as honorable. To accept payment for non dis closure of lack of experience in such matters is st...upedious to say least. Don't waste your money or time. He will do a letter that's it. I instructed him to file lawsuit on my evidence this individual response it's too time consuming and expensive. His one man firm is too small. But it wasn't too small to take this payment tho. Total of thousand dollars for a letter . He had me to research my own claim send him evidence like he was representing him just to display he did something to conclude he has done all he could do to keep the money. He is a professional naything to represent anything. At least my family well aware exactly the mistake I made have prepared to continue my case from where he did nothing. Before you respond as a clown I'm not interested in your circus. Best regards to that part. Don't hire this attorney you will not get justice or rather any to little communication. We showed up twice in florida for office meet and he avoided such . Not to mention didn't answer office phone . I have reprimanded the attorney the law service that mention his practice. Online lawyer representing is exactly why internet is not to be trusted. Be aware . Find representation from lawyer who knows consumer law don't make mistakes myself or other clients listed in reviews have done.

Couldn't even get to my case. He wanted $50 dollars just to hear his voice. People understand, if a attorney is begging for money to handle a lawsuit, they aren't a good attorney. They going to get paid from our lawsuits alone so all that begging for money attorneys are only high priced scammers.... Anybody reading this just think,if you was a attorney and you had cases that you get 30 -50% or more of people you represent money, why would you care anything about upfront money? All you would want to hear is you fixing to get paid if you take this case. So any time from here on out,if they asking for money for lawsuits they aren't a good attorney. Criminals of course you should and need to pay,shouldn't be doing crimes anyway! But for us people that's obeying GOOD and NATURE you now know what a good lawyer that's going to fight for your rights and what you deserve. Not those begging for our money for nothing. SPREAD THE WORD A SPIRITUAL ADVISOR EXPLAINED TO THE WORLD WHAT A REAL ATTORNEY IS. $50 to hear a case when countless on the other side doing it for free in hopes to hear something that will get them or their law firm money is insane.

Alexander exceeded my expectations. He consulted with me for approximately 2 days prior to being retained to make sure he had a clear understanding of the legal concern and my expectations. My expectations were a little high and he was able to explain to me in a professional manner the risk and outco...mes that I could expect. Alexander negotiated on my behalf and he received results in a timely manner which I was not expecting. He was also personable and understanding throughout the entire ordeal, which I appreciated. I would definitely retain Alexander if I have any other issues in the future.
