Ludmila Oleg Yamalova

I am a U.S. qualified attorney with ten years of legal experience practicing in Silicon Valley, California. I received my Juris Doctor (JD) graduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin, TX and my undergraduate degree in Political Philosophy at Reed College, Oregon. I also have a Masters in European Union law from University in Nanterre, Paris, France. I am one of the founding partners of HPL Yamalova & Plewka JLT in its present form.

I specializes in real estate, commercial law and dispute resolution. Among other things, I represents investors in the real estate sector. As part of that, I work actively with the Dubai Real Estate Investor Group, Dubai Land Department and RERA. I am quoted regularly in the Dubai local media and I appear regularly as a guest speaker in Dubai Eye radio station on the latest legal issues in the Middle East.

Prior to HPL Plewka & Yamalova JLT,  I was a partner at Al Sayyah Advocates and Legal Consultants, and prior to A&L Advocates, I was a partner at a Dubai based M.A.C. Davidson and Associates firm. There, I practiced commercial law, real estate law and dispute resolution. I represented a wide variety of clients from the U.S., CIS, Europe, India, Pakistan and from all over the Middle East.

Prior to moving to Dubai, I was as Associate General Counsel of a NASDAQ listed company in Silicon Valley, California. Before then, I practised with a leading global law firm DLA Piper, also in California. While in the U.S., I was a regular speaker for the American Bar Association on the issues of intellectual property, commercial law and corporate management.

I am fluent in Russian and Ukranian, having spent the first half of my life in the former Soviet Union. I am also proficient in French.
