Francois Xavier Forgette

Mr. Forgette is a knowledgeable, experienced, and well-respected attorney in the Tri-Cities area. I think he is an average-to-good choice if you have a specific legal question and you're just looking for information. However, if you're looking for an advocate for your position (e.g. in a dispute or l...itigation), I would strongly not recommend using Mr. Forgette. Mr. Forgette's style and philosophy is like that of a mediator, and he tends to push for a middle-of-the-road solution. Certainly, that approach is appropriate in some cases, and getting such advice from an attorney is often helpful. But in other cases an attorney needs to be an aggressive and passionate advocate of his CLIENT'S position and his CLIENT'S objectives. I found Mr. Forgette unwilling (and possibly unable) to do that, even when I explicitly and repeatedly asked him to do so. Instead, Mr. Forgette continually forced me to adopt HIS position and HIS objectives. I came to think that he TRULY believes his business/moral/life compass is the right one for everyone else, too. Hence, he constantly fought me on my--very reasonable and ultimately successful--position and objectives. I think Mr. Forgette could make a good mediator, arbitrator, or even judge. But if you're looking for an attorney who will champion you, look elsewhere.
