I recently had the privilege of working with Dave Hazel from David Hazel Mediation, and I must say, it was an eye-opening experience. David represented me about 6 years ago in a divorce case. I had a very complicated case with a very abusive ex-husband with children involved and some assets. All in all he fought hard for me to keep custody of my children, and control of the assets. He assisted in avoiding a foreclosures, relocation..., and full custody of my children. He was aggressive in finding the truth behind all the financial games my ex was playing. It was an expensive battle, but he did accept payments from me for a good while. Unfortunately, before trial he decided not to move forward without me paying a significant amount (most of my balance) – which came out of left field, and frankly was impossible for me. I ended up showing up alone, but things were set up so well by Dave up to that point - there wasn't much that could have gone wrong. One thing I will never forget about Dave was his strength in the courtroom. He was in no way intimidated by my ex and his threats. He moved quickly and professionally with each matter that we came across. He got into court quickly when it mattered the most. His paralegal, Debbie at that time - was amazing & a talented writer. She captured our story well. I appreciate all they did. Dave is very well respected in the community for a reason, he gets the job done no b/s. Last I heard his daughter is now practicing w/him, I can only hope she will be as good as he is! I have full custody of my kids and live outside of Yakima County. We thank David for his time and efforts all those years ago, we are free of violence and are doing great.

Dave Hazel represented me in a child custody case in 2008 and was an absolutely wonderful attorney who worked hard and was dedicated fighting on my behalf. I hired him again in 2015 and the worst attorney I could have hired who was also several thousand dollars more than the average, He was unpr...epared for court, did not even know our correct names in front of the judge and then had the audacity to blame me for his unpreparedness, His staffs was just as incompetent and unpleasant, When I was assertive about getting my case corrected I was told by Mr. Hazel to stop being rude to his staff! It was when the other attorneys in the courtroom began to make comments to Mr. Hazel about the lack of knowledge he had in my case that he became irate and told me that he was going to lose and therefore withdrawing because he didn’t want any losses on record. He refunded me about $500 from the $5000 I paid upfront in cash! He deserted the case and left me without an attorney or funds to hire another, Although this was a few years ago I will never forget his rude and arrogant disposition and lack of ethical principals regarding his profession, Don’t make the same mistake I did and hire this attorney as It took me years to regain what I lost when Mr. Hazel left me hanging our to dry when it was his own incompetency and greed that I paid for and I trusted in him when in return I was given lazy and terrible representation from him and treated poorly by his disrespectful and unprofessional staff.

Attorney David Hazel is the most incompetent and inefficient attorney in Yakima. He does not put forth any effort, he will not communicate with you, nor does he follow court procedure. He is lazy and does not allow you one on one time to build your case with him. He charges for time not spent wit...h him...I cannot say anything good about his representation.
