TERRIBLE!!

JJ Sandlin is very unprofessional!! I hired him to handle a very sensitive case with my Juvenile son. He charged me a flat fee of $11,500. I was so scared for my son because he was being wrongly accused of a crime, so I asked my entire Family to loan me money to pay this huge fee! Only to be complete...ly shocked at how BAD JJ really is. He showed up for Court Late EVERY time, twice he didn’t show up at All!! He came Empty handed all the time he never had any Files or reports pertaining to the case with him. I told him we had witnesses and text messages basically proof that my son was innocent, he said that he didn’t need any of that! He didn’t talk to anyone, he didn’t do any investigations Nothing! His assistant Aubrey new NOTHING about the Law. He then told me he needed another $10,000 for my case because it was more complicated than he thought & He YELLED at me when I told him I did not have that much money and he had agreed to a flat fee. I had the HAND WRITTEN “Contract” to prove it. He then told me he would do what he could. Needless to say we lost in court & My Son ended up being Guilty of a Crime he didn’t commit which has affected ALL of our Family. JJ was terrible absolutely TERRIBLE!! Please do your research and do NOT hire this Unprofessional “Lawyer”.

I hired him also for a family law case !! He was never on time! He wore slippers for what reason? He made me do all the leg work Charged me 5000$ and then quit after I said you agreed to a 5000$ total payment!!!! The bar Linda Edlie pushed this to the committee , they denyed my right to A...ppel and gave him another half ass warning. That I never got to see . The history of this man is easy to see He is a money pit with no benefits. I will be taking him to small clams court very soon! Please this man is a Con Artisted Why would I post this if it was not true ?

DO YOUR RESEARCH !!! DON'T HIRE HIM

One star for knowing the very law well. I had to pay 5000.00$ for a retainer for a family law case. I never gotten any receipts for any work he preformed. he is now all of a sudden more funds when I did most of the work. His Contract is Only to protect him. He is withdrawing with out even quoti...ng a price or why I owe more money form him to continue and he cant even show how my money was spent. He has yelled at me, screams at his assistant during my time with him. He was late every time for court. And much more, I do not recommend anyone hire JJ sandlin. He is to old and disorganization to be practicing law.

Unprofesional, disorganized, absent or tardy

Once upon a time, I retained Mr. J.J Sandlin of the Sandlin Law Firm to represent me. Sounds like a fairy tale doesn’t it ? That is where the story book fairytale ends, and the nightmare begins. Unfortunately for me, he apparently had too much “important work" to do to tend to my legal defense.... He frequently strolled into court late, one time missing the entire hearing. The excuse every time was that "I have important casework" in California. Come to find out, JJ Sandlin isn't even licensed to practice law in California. I later learned that the reason he blew not only my case, but others, was because he was trying to save his wife’s house from foreclosure in California. JJ Sandlin either showed up late or altogether missed my court hearings it resulted in a default order being entered against me and the result has been disastrous to the relationship of my child. He then asked to be paid EXTRA, because of the extra work he had to do ( had he done it right the first time he wouldn’t have been in that position. He eventually quit, and left my case worse off than when he started. I considered a claim of negligence, but didn’t have the money after he took my money and ran. After my experience with his untrained staff ( Aubrey was brand new and apparently he had recruited from a local pet store), his classic disorganization, and the obvious chaos he lives in litigating in California for the house he must not be able to afford, I would caution anyone considering using his services because it appears his attention isn’t on his clients. I know I am not the only one, as I found this link. I am sad that I didn’t have reviews to base my choices on. So Far I have hired the worse two lawyers in Eastern Washington, according to Avvo. Protect yourself, do your research!

Caution : Pay attention to the bar complaints and ratings here.

I hired JJ Sandlin to handle a case. He took the agreed upon amount, then never performed the agreed work. He missed court appearances, never performed discover and then just quit. He frequently badgered me about more money, yet he portrays it as a fixed price up front. When he quit, he didn't p...rovide me with a billing statement or my case files. One time we had a "work session" in his house. The case files of many others were scattered about, and it looked like a typhoon had been through the room. I would not recommend hiring JJ Sandlin or the " Sandlin Law firm" to anyone that has more than a simple court appearance. He has no professional support staff and he continually blames the assistants when he missed court appearances altogether, resulting in a default order being entered. I spent more time with his assistants arguing about not paying more money than i ever spent addressing the issues of my case.

J.’s comment:

“JJ Sandlin refused to file documents that would put his clients in danger of criminal fraud charges and expensive sanctions. This reprimand was never signed into effect yet is illegally posted to the WSBA site under the heading "Admonition". Attorney Sandlin has applied to have it removed.”
