Quinn Rosborough Dalan

Quinn Dalan graduated from Gonzaga University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in English.  After college, Quinn attended law school in Virginia at Regent University School of Law.  While at Regent University Quinn was involved in Public Interest Legal Advocated at Regent, was on the Honor Council, and was a staff member of the Regent University School of Law International Law Journal.  Quinn graduated from law school in the top third of her class.  

In March 2008 Quinn began working at the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in the District Court Unit under Ron Zirkle.  As a deputy prosecuting attorney in District Court, Quinn prepared and argued motions.  She handled hundreds of cases including assaults, domestic violence, protection order violations, DUIs, suspended licenses, hunting violations and marijuana cases.  In the short time Quinn spent in District Court, she took 8 cases to trial.    

The talent and tenacity was quickly recognized and Quinn was soon promoted to the Felony Division where she worked as a prosecutor in the Special Assault Unit - a unit specialized in handling assaults against children, sex crimes, and serious domestic violence felonies.  Quinn spent two years handling the hardest cases a prosecutor can handle.  She charged, argued motions and prepared for and went to trial on numerous types of cases including: Rapes, Sexual Assaults on Children, Violations of Protection Order, Violent Assaults and Vehicular Assaults.  She also worked as the second prosecutor on two cases of Aggravated Murder in the First Degree.  

Not only did Quinn develop extensive knowledge of trial and criminal law with her numerous trials, but she was also extensively trained.  Quinn has been trained on how to interview children regarding violence or sexual abuse; she has attended several in depth trainings on domestic violence and sexual assault and has attended a rigorous trial course at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina.   

After a couple of years of excelling in the toughest unit, Quinn was again promoted to District Court Unit Supervisor.  She was recognized as an excellent trial attorney, fearless and prepared, and was asked to train the newest hires to the prosecutor's office.  While Quinn was the District Court Supervisor, she was in charge of the charging decisions for the entire unit.  Additionally, Quinn supervised and trained the entry level prosecutors.    

In June 2011, Quinn left the prosecutor's office.  She spent a year and a half working as a felony criminal defense attorney for indigent clients in Grant County, Washington.  During that time, Quinn has successfully argued two suppression motions on drug cases, resulting in dismissal of all charges.  She took eight cases to trial - including serious strike offenses.  None of her clients were convicted of the strike offenses charged after jury verdicts.  Furthermore, on seven of the eight cases the results for the client were better than the outcome offered by the prosecutor prior to trial.  Four of those cases resulted in misdemeanor convictions (instead of the felonies with which the clients were charged).  During that time she has represented accused persons in all cases including sex crimes, drug crimes, serious assaults, burglaries, robberies, property crimes, attempted murder and homicide.

In 2013, Quinn opened Dalan Law where she provided excellent legal services to family law and criminal defense clients.  She was licensed to practice in Federal Court and handled several criminal cases, including two jury trials, and Hague petition case.  In 2014, Quinn devoted her practice to exclusively representing indigent juveniles.  She represented juveniles in criminal court, truancy court and ARY court.  During the two years Quinn spent in juvenile court she had 18 bench trials and won about half of those trials.

In May 2016, Quinn accepted a position with Yakima County Department of Assigned Counsel where she will represent indigent adult clients charged with felonies.
