Paul Campbell Dempsey

Paul Dempsey has practiced law in both Washington and California since 1994.  His professional experience has included a focus on management-side employment and labor law.  He has also represented water rights holders, including irrigation districts, water users' associations and private parties. Additionally, he performs general commercial and transactional work for the firm’s agribusiness clients.  

EXPERIENCE:

Paul provides advice and counsel to businesses concerning labor and employment issues.  He has designed and implemented workplace policies addressing employee leave and benefits, anti-discrimination and wage-and-hour practices consistent with evolving regulation and employers' business and operational requirements.  Paul has represented both State Fund and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters.  He also has organized labor experience, including representation of management in union elections, collective bargaining and grievance arbitrations. 

Paul also has broad experience in water rights and regulation, including the purchase and sale of permitted and certificated rights; representation of individuals, ditch companies, water users’ associations and major irrigation districts in contractual and administrative matters; issues involving construction and operation of water delivery infrastructure; water right transfers; and water banking initiatives.
