HC was injured while lawfully crossing in a crosswalk. Allstate Insurance was at fault driver's insurance. Requested policy limits of $100k from the beginning of negotations. No settlement was reach ... ed. Case went to trial and jury awarded every penny that was requested. Allstate exposed their insured to liability because the jury award exceeded the policy demand limits. Allstate paid the excess award on behalf of their client rather than appealing the jury award.
