Just not the guy you want for family court..

I was really low on funds and NEEDED a lawyer for custody/divorce. The divorce part was a piece of cake, his help wasn't needed there. As for the custody case, I should have just represented myself. He hardly said a word and let my ex's lawyer completely plow right through him. He's way too mild mann...ered to be a lawyer in general. I actually had to get up and speak for myself at one point because he was just sitting up at the stand saying NOTHING AT ALL. My daughter had no clue who her dad was and he was granted every other weekend and a midweek overnight! It lasted about two months and he disappeared again, but thanks to William (Bill), he can now legally show up at random and have full access to my child. Outside of that, I rarely was able to get ahold him. I always got his voicemail and had to call multiple times to get him to answer his phone. I never knew if he was going to actually be in court, which is what scared me the most. I actually had to go to the family court facilitator once, for advice, because I absolutely could not get ahold of him. I found out I wasn't allowed to get advice elsewhere when their is a lawyer already on the case. So I started making attempts to get ahold of him to ask him to please drop my case so I can seek help elsewhere. He would not pick up my calls, my emails, texts, NOTHING. I actually called from a different number and thats how I eventually got ahold of him. When you're going through something as stressful and scary, like a custody battle or family court, he just isn't the guy you want.

No follow through

I would have to say William Brendgard is very unmotivated when it comes to helping out his clients. He is in it for the quick cash. I retained Bill to help out with a divorce and to do a modification towards my child support / spousal maintenece. Unfortunately since I live out of State I had to have ...Bill go to court on my behalf which he agreed to do and take my deposit. I faxed all the documents he needed and had a court date scheduled that he was supposed to be at on my behalf. He not only did not make the hearing he also won't return my calls or e-mails. Absolutely no follow through. I thought by retaining Mr. Brendgard I would have someone on my team to help me out. I felt like he was a push over to my wife's attorney in the begining as well. He did not want to confront her on any matters. All he recommended was for me to do what my ever my wife's attorney demanded. Absolutely no back bone.
