Wife accused client of 28 counts of rape. Wife and client speak only Chinese, Client had informed me that wife had fabricated rape charges because she was afraid that he would report her to immigrati ... on, after husband learned that wife was working as prostitute. I retained an excellent Chinese speaking investigator to set up sting operation and captured wife engaged in sex for money on video, which I produced to prosecutor, getting all 28 felony rape counts dismissed in addition to separate related misdmeanor case.

OUTCOME: Stopped NYAG's investigation of my client and all Airbnb Hosts.

The New York Attorney General sent a four page letter to my client demanding that she answer numerous questions and provide copies of her tax returns, after her landlord reported that she was engaged i ... n short term rentals. I responded by writing a four page letter that summarized why the NYAG had no right to demand anything from her or investigate further. Specifically, I explained why the NYAG's legal arguments regarding her supposed "illegal hotel" operation lacked any legal merit and why she did not owe any hotel taxes for income generated. I provided the NYAG with copies of two legal briefs that I researched and wrote on the subjects. Because of my efforts, the NYAG abandoned its investigation for my client but also ALL Airbnb hosts, including those who had been cooperating with the NYAG.

OUTCOME: Client stayed in apartment for 10 months without payment of rent and defeated eviction.

Landlord served Notice of Termination to evict client for short term rentals. We challenged eviction without disputing short term rentals and after a four day trial, defeated landlord's eviction, base ... d upon fact that client had timely cured. Landlord argued client had no right to cure, which Judge rejected.
