Nancy's An Excellent Lawyer

I've known Nancy since early 2005 when I contacted her Thompson Falls, MT Law Office. I was searching for a lawyer to handle a difficult, but sensitive case involving a family matter. Several other lawyers had turned me down or were too expensive, and though she had reservations herself, she agreed... to represent me. She told me up front, she would need to consult another law firm for advise concerning one of the issues involved, and stated exactly what they would charge. Once she accepted our case, papers were filed and subpoenas issued to the party involved. That action drew an extremely angry response from the defendant, and then another from one of western Montana's most knowledgeable lawyer's in that field. Nancy had her work cut out for her, and the case went on longer than we had hoped, which included an appeal to the Montana Supreme Court. Her response to the Court was perfect, and they dismissed the appeal with "extreme prejudice." I couldn't have been happier, and the solution couldn't have been any more satisfactory. We became friends while she was working on my case, so one day I ask her if she did any volunteer work, to which she replied "yes." At that time I was the chairman of an newly organized non-profit called the Sanders County Community Housing Organization (SCCHO). Our Board members were all volunteers, but we needed one that could advise us on legal issues. We were not receiving our fair share of Federal or State funding from the agency responsible for distributing that money to several western Montana counties. Members were discouraged and some resigned. We had reached a plateau and couldn't seem to get off of it. When Nancy became a member, I ask her to take the Chair which she did, and things began to happen. She brought new blood to the group, and a host of new projects to work on. We looked at Neighborhood Stabilization grants, we began a low to medium income weatherization project, trained an educator to hold First Time Home Buyer Workshops, and began a Senior Home Repair program. When Nancy chose to move, she was working as our Executive Director, and left us in great shape. As an Attorney, you couldn't ask for more. She respects the wishes of her client, maintains confidentiality, is loyal and hard working, but knows her limits and isn't afraid to seek advice, plus she is very community minded. Thank you for the opportunity to write a review for her.
