Stay away from this lawyer. He is unprofessional and incompetent.

I had a deeply distressing experience with Mr. Crowe, who allowed my mother, who was dying from brain cancer and kidney disease and also had dementia, to sign over power of attorney to a group of her scandalous friends. These individuals exploited her financially, and Mr. Crowe not only allowed this ...to happen but did nothing to prevent it. My mother did not even understand what a power of attorney was, believing it was just for paying her bills when she was incapacitated. Yet Mr. Crowe gave them full authority over her finances and medical decisions . They also tricked my mother into giving them half a beef cow, and even worse, stole thousands of dollars worth of ammunition and some power tools from her home when she was away. On top of that, these so-called "friends" gave my mother’s car keys back to her , even though doctors and I had all advised against her driving due to her condition. She constantly had dizzy spells, had very poor vision and would frequently stay out till 3 or 4 in the morning at the casino which was almost an hour away from her house. This action endangered my mother’s life as well as the lives of others. After I regained power of attorney and contacted adult protective services and the department of liscencing I reached out to Mr. Crowe explaining the situation and requested a refund, he didn’t even have the decency to respond. The lack of professionalism and ethical responsibility in this situation was appalling. I highly recommend that others avoid this lawyer, especially if you are dealing with a vulnerable loved one. It's deeply upsetting to see how my mother was taken advantage of by both her so-called "friends" and by someone who was supposed to help protect her interests.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
